            note = {On the Cover: The ?noise? depicted on the cover is a screenshot from a video representation of Richard Wagner?s ?Ride of the Valkyries,? which is played at ear-splitting volume at 7 a.m. on the dot every morning during finals week at Caltech. The image was created for E\&S by motion-graphics designer Ryan Luse. But that?s not all it is. In keeping with the issue?s theme{--}noise, and finding the signal within the noise {--} we?ve hidden a signal on the cover as well. It is, appropriately enough, the word noise. Can you find it?
